Jeff Connors was
born in Van Nuys California. He is one of four sons of
Chuck and Elizabeth Connors. (His mother Elizabeth was a
popular model in Canada).
Jeff grew up in
Woodland Hills, California - San Fernando Valley.
Jeff has a lot of
fond memories of his dad. Like the time his father hit a
home run and the ball
landed in his brother Mike’s stroller.
(Chuck Connors was at one time a professional baseball
player prior to his days as
Lucas McCain, “The Rifleman”)
Another great memory
with Chuck was when he was little he would often be with
his dad on the Rifleman set. In between takes he
would often jump into his Dad's arms from different
heights yelling “in flight” and Chuck would catch him.
Jeff was in three episodes of The Rifleman ~
'Tension' - 'The Schoolmaster' and 'First Wages.'
Jeff is an accomplished singer/songwriter.
First song was called “Teach Me.” It took him 15 minutes to write.
Jeff has very fond
family memories of CBS television coming over to
their house to do
a documentary of Chuck’s personal life
with the whole family during The Rifleman years.
(Zane Grey aired on CBS, which debuted The Sharpshooter,
The Rifleman debuted on ABC - Four Stars Production)
Jeff says growing up with the name Connors was always a good thing and he
has always been proud of it. He will tell you he has
nothing negative to say about being a movie star’s son.
“It was cool being The Rifleman’s real son,” said
Jeff.
Jeff is a self
taught musician and started to play music when he was
22. Waylon, Vern Gosdin, Merle Haggard, Hank Jr., David
Allan Coe was Jeff's mentors.
Jeff has played with such artists as Russ Freeman, Jeff's first guitar player at the age of nineteen—out of Nashville. Russ was by far the best jazz player and one of the most talented Country guitar players in the business. Jeff was and will always be very honored and proud to have had Russ by his side. Other guitar players would sneak into watch Russ play and their jaws would drop with amazement.
Jeff wants to say to Russ from the heart.....thank you! I will always treasure the great times we played together. Russ was also the founder of the very famous group 'The Rippingtons'.
Jeff has also played with
Boo Bernstein who played Petal Steel for Freddie Fender, and
a special hug to Rance Wasson—who
played with Waylon for several years. Jeff was
honored to play with Rance for 5 years. Rance has
a dynamite voice and was nicknamed "Razzi Dazzle"
because he would always dazzle the audience.
A special thanks also goes to John Bidozio who played
with Dolly Parton and has taught Petal Steel—much thanks
to John! I consider John to be one of the best Steel players in the world. I was very, very honored to play with John!
Jeff also has played with Dwight Yoakum, Hutch Hutchinson
(bass player for Bonnie Raitt), and Jack Daniels (lead
guitar for the band Highway 101).
Jeff was honored to play with Cary Park, one
of the best players in the business & most of all one of the nicest guys. Cary was with Boy Howdy and many other famous artist.
Guitarist Howard Yearwood a fine musician, fine producer, and a fine gentleman.
Last but not least.....a huge thanks to David Rush, my drummer. David played with me from 1980 to 1987, I will always be indebit to David for his talent and for believing in my music,
Grady and Cathy Walker, a special thanks to them for getting Jeff started.
Steve White, Steel player for Merle Haggard, thanks Steve!
John Molo, drummer for Bruce Hornsby, one of the finest drummers Jeff's ever played with.
Steve Duncan, drummer for "The Dessert Rose
Band,' Steve has played with numerous artist and is considered to be one of the finest country drummers around and a very true friend.
J. D. Manness also with "The Dessert Rose Band.' J.D has played with Vince Gill, Eric Clapton, and has played with numerous artist and has been on numerous sound tracks. A special thanks to J.D. for his friendship and his talent.
In his music career Jeff has opened up for such talents
as Johnny Paycheck, The Everly Brothers, Shenandoah, and

son.
A special thanks goes out to Boo Bernstein and Jack
Daniels from Jeff for
their friendship over the years. "Thanks

The Who, Van Halen and ZZ Top are among Jeff's favorite bands.
Jeff is single and
living in the LA area. He has three children,
Thomas Jeffrey, Cole
Michael and his precious little angel Nicole Marie.
He is a very open and honest man who loves talking
to his fathers fans. Jeff Connors wrote and recorder a
very timeless piece of American music called “Let’s
Stand Behind Our Country”. The song is a very
patriotic tribute to the trials, strengths, and heritage
of the USA. He wants the American people to finally hear
this song as we proudly reflect on the greatness of our
nation.
Jeff would like America to hear his
song.....
