Back in March there was an auction on American Memorabilia and we gathered a little team to try and win some of Chuck Connors’ shirts. However, we didn’t bid high enough to win those shirts. We were disappointed, but luck was with us. In
April, more of Chuck Connors’ shirts went up for auction. We were determined to win them this time!
This time we had a team of five people (Lu, Turquoise, Barbara, Redneckwoman and me - Linda C.) so that allowed us to bid higher. I was the lead person in the auction; so the night the auction was ending, I was glued to the computer. Working with the three hour time difference from the West Coast where the auction house is and the East Coast where I am was a little nerve-wracking. We actually had to beat out several threats to our bid. That meant staying up much later than normal and
keeping on top of the auction. I finally put in the highest bid we could get together and hoped for the best.
The best is what we got! Boy was I happy when I realized that we won those shirts! We won Lot#253 – a set of six shirts that once belonged to Chuck Connors! Three looked fairly western; two were dress shirts and one was most definitely a very western fancy shirt. Every member of our team was as happy as I was and dividing up the shirts was easy because everyone was so cooperative.
It was a great team!
Best of all, each one of the five member team got a special shirt and we gave one to Cowgirl in appreciation of all that she does with the website and message board – not to mention birthday cards, get well cards and terrific newsletters.

This is me in New York City at Houlihan's Restaurant when Linda C. presented me my shirt on behalf of all the girls.
What a great surprise!
Thank you Lu, Turquoise, Barbara, Redneckwoman and Linda C.
